Our Proven 6-Step Installation Process

From Preparation to Perfection

Surface Preparation

Every successful floor starts with expert preparation. In West Michigan’s varied climate, concrete surfaces can suffer from cracks, moisture, or unevenness. That’s why we begin with mechanical diamond grinding to remove existing coatings and expose clean concrete. We then repair any cracks, pits, or surface damage to create a smooth and structurally sound base. This step ensures proper adhesion of all subsequent layers.

Base Coat Application

Next, we apply a pigmented base coat using industrial-grade epoxy or polyaspartic resin, depending on the system chosen. This layer adds vibrant color and serves as the adhesive foundation for the flake system. It chemically bonds with the concrete, ensuring durability from the ground up.

Vinyl Flake Broadcast

While the base coat is still wet, we fully broadcast vinyl flakes across the surface. These decorative flakes aren’t just for looks—they provide added texture for slip resistance and reinforce the structural integrity of the surface. You can choose from a wide range of blends to match your garage’s design goals.

Clear Receiver Coat

Once the flakes have cured in place, we apply a clear receiver coat. This layer saturates the flakes, locking them in securely and creating a tight, durable bond between layers. It also helps seal the surface for the next phase of the process.

Second Flake Layer

For added depth, coverage, and texture, a second layer of flakes can be broadcast. This enhances the floor’s appearance and durability, giving it a richer, more customized finish.

Top Coats

Finally, we apply two layers of high-performance polyaspartic top coat. These industrial-grade coatings provide exceptional protection against UV rays, chemicals, abrasions, and daily wear. The result is a long-lasting, low-maintenance surface that looks great and performs even better.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Just had Garage Kings West Michigan do our patio and walk. And we could not be more pleased. The crew did a fantastic job and took the time to explain each step in the process. They did a fantastic job cleaning up afterwards. The only thing they left behind was a beautiful patio and sidewalk.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. If you're going to have your garage floor epoxied, I highly encourage Garage Kings of West Michigan. I had Garage Kings do my garage floor and the experience was excellent. The three installers arrived on time, introduced themselves and went straight to work. I was watching pro's at work. Each man, having done this several times, knew exactly what to do. Each had a different task and went to it. The communication between the owner and myself was great. He kept me informed as to what preparation I needed to do, before hand and what I could expect. The before and after pictures tell it all. Thank you Garage Kings!

What Other Clients Say About Us!

I had my garage floor done in early March of 2024. the crew were polite, professional, and left everything spotless. I wanted to wait a bit before writing a review to give the floor a chance to settle and see how it reacts to heavy rain (Garage Kings checks for moisture before installation, by the way). The floor still looks great as it did on the first day. Happy with my project and highly recommend the company!

I went with Garage Kings Delaware for a polyaspartic coating on my new garage and couldn’t be happier with the results! Michael and his son Trent provided exceptional customer service and were quick and responsive to my questions. They were even early on the day of installation. I love the results and would not hesitate to recommend their services! 5/5 ⭐️!

I am in love with my new garage floor. Mike and Trent were extremely helpful, had great communication, arrived on time, left the area clean, and even provided me material to keep the floor clean. If you are thinking about getting a new garage floor or renovating your garage, this is the company to go with!!!! The transformation from the before to after is amazing!
